You’re going to love this winery wedding!

Sarah and Dylan got married at the gorgeous Mountain Winery in Saratoga, California (and we’re talking rolling-hills-castle-esque gorgeous, my friends). I was so excited when I first looked through these images because there are so many romantic winery-inspired shots. But what really makes this wedding special are the details. Sarah and Dylan’s ideas for their wedding were super-unique, and that made all the difference in the world.

There’s a lot of handmade elements to Sarah and Dylan’s wedding, such as the hand-folded paper cranes that decorate the ceremony and reception sites. Additionally, Sarah and her bridesmaids collected wildflowers from the neighborhood (shh!), which were used for bouquets. Only, these were not just decorative bouquets. These flowers are a Swedish tradition of using the strongest smelling flowers available to ward off trolls. (Yes, I said trolls! I mean who wants these guys at their wedding?).

The couple also had one of the shortest ceremonies Russell’s ever attended (it clocked-in at less than four minutes). The ceremony was held on the winery deck overlooking Saratoga, with a fire burning at their feet. After the couple was wed, friends and family tossed secret wishes into the fire to ensure the couples happy future.

Rather than dancing all night long at the reception, Sarah and Dylan celebrated their love for board games. That’s right, it was game night! Their guests got down with with Yhatzee, Uno, Apples to Apples, among other favorites.
