Family Portrait Style: Go Bold

This month we get bright and colorful with our Family Portrait Style series. I’ve done some fun posts featuring autumn colors of warm browns, casual blues, and harvest reds. But it’s time to get bold with color and dress your family to impress.

In the image below I used bright canary yellow and slate grey as my core colors. Then I added a little bubble gum pink for a pop of brightness. Throw in neutral greys and you’ve got a bright, sunny family ready to smile all day long. See? Creating your own family portrait style is as easy as one, two, three.

The family below went bold with pink, purple, and brown. Plum purple made for a bold statement as a core color, and is nicely balanced by a grounding earth brown. Pops of pink and blue make everyone want to smile, and are rounded out by cream neutrals. Notice that you don’t always have to match your landscape. Bold colors make you the center of attention in the best way.
