Family Portrait Style: Warm Brown and Aqua

Family portrait season is upon us again!

After many inquiries asking: What do I wear to my portrait session?!  I stared this Family Portrait Style series last year. Don’t fear, putting together a well-dressed family is as easy as picking two core colors and adding accents … and maybe perusing through a couple blog examples.

In the image below I used two different shades of the same color (tan) for my core colors. Then I added aqua blue as my pop of brightness. Throw in the neutrals of faded blue jeans and you’ve got a simple but stylish looking family. It’s that easy!

I absolutely adore the color palette the family pictured below put together for their portrait sessions last year. They started out with two shades of blue as their core colors. I love the dark blue contrast of that dress against mom’s beautiful blond hair. Then they brightened things up with fall accents of orange and harvest red. These went perfectly with the brick backgrounds of downtown Pasadena. With a few added neutrals of tan and grey in their pants and shoes, this family was looking gooooood.
