Kara and Brandon’s Big Bear Wedding was nothing short of magical. We love getting away from the honking horns and cramped traffic of LA life — particularly for the big day — and Big Bear Lake did not disappoint! It created an intimate woodsy backdrop for this creative couple.

The two got married in a grove of pine trees behind the Alpenhorn Bed and Breakfast in Big Bear. The sun was setting during the ceremony and cast a golden light as the couple read their vows. It was ah-maaaaa-zing!  A whimsical outdoor reception followed, where Kara and Brandon treated their guests to strawberry cake and champagne toasts. Meanwhile, guests got invited to describe the couple in a single word during a creative game of marriage Scrabble! And of course everyone had a ball dancing under the stars.

For this wedding, Russell worked as a second photographer with one of his favorite colleagues, Kelli. As the second shooter for Kellimac Images, Russell got to spend the morning with the groom as he got ready (while Kelli covered the bride). This is one of the great things about having two photographers for an event … you get to see both sides of the story at the same time!
